technology integration portfolio technology resume One of the major challenges of working with technology is that the digital world is constantly evolving, requiring technology users to constantly learn and adapt. As an educator working with digital natives, it's important to be adequately equipped with skills and knowledge to assist students in developing their own technology skills and instilling in them a love for life-long learning. For this project, I learned about a variation on resumes which enables me to showcase my relevant skills and knowledge as it pertains to my integration of technology in teaching. One of the major benefits of the Technology Resume is that it accounts for future expansion of skills and knowledge. My technology resume is below.

Richard A. Jeter

I’ve taught for 15 years in the public school system with experience in middle school reading, art, digital arts, and television productions as well as high school digital design and web design. As a reading and art teacher, my use of technology was primarily in accessing media to enhance lessons. When I taught art, most of my instruction related to traditional media, however I also provided instruction in animation, using digital cameras and constructing the sequences using a computer. It was during this time that I began publishing student work on the web through a class website. When I taught digital arts and television productions at my second middle school as well as digital design and web design in my current high school position, the emphasis of my teaching shifted from enhancement of lessons using technology to providing instruction in how to use hardware and software to produce still and moving media. Furthermore, I’ve accumulated experience in freelance digital design and web design which I’ve brought into my classroom, promoting practical applications of digital media design.

Digitally native students often adopt new technologies before many educators and being open to learning about and putting new technology into use in the classroom is critical for student engagement and providing instructional activities that are relevant to students needs and preferences.
