Social media affords users the ability to communicate and collaborate asynchronously. Integrated in the classroom, social media tools such as Twitter have the potential to transform a traditional class discussion into one that is more engaging and affords all students a chance to participate and relate their own ideas to the dialogue. For the social media activity, I discussed technology integration publicly with my classmates and instructor. Another aspect of social media is the ability for the communication and collaboration to occur in a public space which broadens the audience and increases relevance for students.
