Podcasts are a very useful tool for professional development, providing a recording of lessons or instructions, as well as enhancing instruction by enabling students to become podcasters. For the podcast project, I listened to a few podcasts and ultimately selected "The Hunt: Four Steps to Smart, Collaborative Digital Curation" as the one I reviewed for my own podcast. I used Vocaroo, a web-based audio recorder to record my podcast. In my own classroom, I foresee podcasts as a helpful tool for recording lesson content or announcements for playback. This supports accommodations for students who may require repeated instructions or the ability to review a lesson. Likewise, screencasts afford the ability to provide recorded lessons with visual content. Podcasts may also be created by students, transforming traditional projects such as book reports into an opportunity for self-expression and creativity which also promotes skills in speech and appeals to aural learners.
